Camille Nestor Josie

Biography

Camille Nestor Josie is a self-taught and recent illustrator. Cabaret artist and slammer since 2012, he returns to drawing in spring 2020. He draws houseplants and pushes them on the dance-floor. He depicts the artists who inspire him to celebrate queer pop figures. He creates dreamlike self-portraits to sublimate the wounds of his trans experience.

His work and his universe are full of vegetal demons, hungover fairies and brambles that fall into each other’s arms. Nowadays Camille Nestor Josie illustrates poems, paints climbing plants on the walls and collaborates on multidisciplinary projects between graphic design and performance art.
